Summer is round the corner and hawkers with their juice extractors will soon be seen on Streets
While crushing sugarcane they will also add a piece of ginger and crushed ice. Chillled sugarcane juice with that tinge of ginger is ideal in the heat of summer.
Sugarcane is packed with health propertiesIt that has a concentation of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese. It could be added in one’s diet on a daily basis but here it is available only during the summer season

I have never tried sugarcane. I will one day.
You must keep a watch for hawkers.
I love sugarcane juice . Really refreshing with a slice of lemon.
I should have included that in my post A slice of lemon maks a difference
Never had sugar cane, but it sure does sound tasty. I lived in Hawaii, and drove passed one on island every now and then.
If at all you come across a hawker with a sugarcane crusher grab that opportunity (lol)
Lol, I’ll keep that in mind grace. See now I’am curious if we have one in my city
I am sure you will find one You must taste it atleast once in your lifetime (lol)
Hmmm; wondering if there is something located in our Chinatown area. Hell, Chinatown has everything, lol
Harvest time for sugar cane here is in the Fall. We used to love chewing on it as kids!
I would not mind chewing it even now but my teeth will not take it (lol)
I don’t know if there is sugar cane. But I guess not.
Not ever country grows sugarcane
It looks very refreshing. I am not a fan though
Is it available where you live?
Must try this drink this summer.
You should. You must be having those hawkers with their crushers.
The sugarcane juice is very refreshing indeed
Look around and I am sure you will get those hawkers somewhere.
I know there’s a field not too far from where I live where sugarcane grows. I’ve never tried it in a juice, but it does sound appealing.
You may get the juice as doing it at home is not possible You need a crusher for that.
Thanks for reminding me of this delicious drink, Grace. I bought it from street hawkers in Egypt and in India, and I remember how refreshing and delicious it was! I have once or twice seen it in a can for sale in specialist shops here. I bought that once, but it was a big disappointment 🙁
There is also a touch of lemon juice squeezed in there. You must have that juice the moment it is prepared Whoever has canned it will soon lose his business (lol)
Unfortunately, it doesn’t grow here and I didn’t know it has so many health benefits.
Whenever you plan to come to India see that it is summer (lol)
I have never heard about this before. Summer is still not here yet and when it comes I will hopefully be making lemonade. Businesses are already around that have different juices they off to people for a price. I have my own juice machine at home and make my own if want some orange juice.
Most households will have juicers but this needs a crusher.
I first had this in Egypt, Hanni, some I’m sure you could grow it if you have the space!
Typo in the poll question. Please read as ‘Does sugarcane grow where you live? Thanks.
