Happy Birthday to my Dad. He would have turned 87 today. I lost him two years ago. Still miss him every singe day. Thankfully I have many good memories to hold onto.
This raindrop rose is being shared just for him. Tiny rain drops remind me of tiny tears. Only because he is missed so very much. When you love someone who dies, tears will visit often. I embrace the tears and move on to a good memory. He had such a good sense of humor. Always made me laugh.
Below is a strawberry my Dad planted and he was so proud to see the first fruit when I visited a few years ago.
The squirrel photo is funny as well. He tried his best to keep them away from the bird feeder. He finally gave in and said, well they have to eat too.
Love you Dad!

Wonderful piece and a fitting tribute my friend.
Thank you Steve. I miss him every moment of every day.
Join all above-mentioned kind words, it’s really wonderful to keep all good + light memories about our parents & grandparents. And your photos are very beautiful!!!
Thank you my friend, life can be difficult but we have to roll with it.
I totally agree with your questions. Hope those good memories will make you feel warm. All the best
Yes, the memories are what keep me going. Appreciate your kindness.
I know that losing a dad hurts. It is not one that goes away. It stays with you. Celebrating dad’s birthday is hard for me because it is the same as the Twins. Father’s day is also hard for me, I have the gift I bought to send to him the year he died. I can’t throw it away, but there is nowhere for it to go.
The pain does reduce though, with the passing of the years. It is nearly five now for us, less painful but still miss him.
Your picture of the squirrel, focusing on happy memories, is spot on!!!!
Yes it hurt in so many ways Doc. I took care of all of his business even being 6 hours away. We talked every day, sometimes more than once a day. About everything. Thankfully I was with him when he passed.
Sorry you also know of the pain. It does not go away.
The squirrel photo always makes me smile.
I love the picture!
It is hard, but we continue onward and upward.
Its great to remember the happy memories, your Dad was lucky to have people who loved him
Thanks, I was his baby girl.
Happy memories help us sojourn on though we should learn from the bad ones. It’s touching how you remember your dad physically
Yes I do remember everything about him. Thank you for your kind words.
I feel you my friend, I too lost my dad a year ago, I miss him so much too. It’s painful losing someone you love but eventually we have to accept, let go and move on with what they left to us, those are the memories. They will always have a place in our hearts.
SO very sorry for your recent loss. It is hard right! Memories are forever.
You have beautiful memories of your father and I know you miss him.
Yes I do and I am very thankful for those memories. Thank you for your support.
Bad memories make us learn and strong while good memories keep us able to move forward.
Yes you are correct. I have all good ones, I just miss him so very much.
I can understand your longing for your father, dear friend.
Thank you, I know you can. It is very painful at times.
I sympathize with you, dear Carol … it’s just life … the older we are obeying … one sooner later
Thanks, I am trying to celebrate today for his birthday.
Yes, we’ll eventually lose someone we love …
having happy memories made it easier …
we know, we’ve had good times with them
Thank you for your words. A happy and sad day all at once today.
