I took this photo a long time ago, but I still remember that day. It’s hard to forget because it was the first time I saw a barge in reality. A barge is a flat-bottomed ship with or without its own propulsion, used for the transport of heavy goods by waterway.
Remember! The theme for next week in Photos chain Challenge is “Watercraft”. I chose this theme from Vidocka’s post: Swans enjoying on the lake.
Watercraft are vehicles used in water. Any kind of watercraft is accepted. Boats, sailing boats, kayaks, yachts, ships, barges, as in my picture, and why not, even submarines if you have! Any photo that contains a “Watercraft” is welcomed to continue the Photoschain Challenge started almost two months ago.
Don’t forget (as I forgot in the previous post) to add the hashtag #PhotosChain

Have you ever seen a barge on the river?
i love watching the big barges on the rivers. it is amazing how they are able to navigate!
I don’t know much about barges. I saw they move in convoys and usually do not have their own propulsion.
on the bigger rivers, they are towed or pushed by a tugboat!
Beautiful picture. I have not seen this type of vessel yet. It looks very interesting.
It is used to transport heavy goods on the river.
Thank you for the explanation. We do not have these vessels.
Yes I have seen many barges on the water as I used a ferry often a few year ago.
I had only seen it in movies before I took this picture.
