Here’s a periwinkle photo for my version of Black and White Friday – the Color Splash Friday. There’s no such challenge yet, I am just having fun with pictures.
This beautiful pastel color is named after the flower. Sometimes, the color is also called lavender blue. It’s one of my favorite colors as I am a big fan of pastel hues in general.
Below, you can pick the version of the photo you like better, the original or the “color splash” version.
I noticed some changes on the site; now comments can be only upvoted, and we have our ranks back. What other changes do you notice? It’s great to see that admins are working on improving the site. I hope the draft issue gets fixed soon too.

Love the photo!!!!!!!
Thank you very much, Jenna!
I like the first one which is not saturated with blue.
It’s a positive thing they’re fixing issues here. I hope too they will work on other issues.
Thank you very much! I celebrated the changes too soon.
Both of them are wonderful in their way.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I love periwinkles, and this photo. I had to pick color splash, I really love the creative look to them.
Thank you very much, Kim!! 🙂
that was a really hard choice! i picked the one on the left but could have gone either way.
Thank you! I am trying to inspire myself. I have a lot of photos to share, but creating a topic and a story is sometimes a struggle.
The story of two flowers
I, the first flower said, am the older and more beautiful flower.
No I, the second flower said loudly as the first finished, am the younger and more beautiful flower.
Sadly Godzilla was walking near the flowers. They were never heard from again.
there a great story start for you. Flowers smashed by Godzilla.
That made me laugh! I may take your idea and literally write short stories in my posts from now on.
i will happily add thoughts and snippets!
I saw this flower growing in a neighbor’s yard. I never had it. It is beautiful in both photos. I love splash color photos but I haven’t tried it in a long time.
Thank you so much! They grow very easily by themselves. I love their color too.
I have many periwinkles in different colours but not this colour.
I think that’s the most common type here, or at least it’s what I have seen.
How lovely and a wonderful shade of purple.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
How pretty. I like them both but chose the one on the left. 🙂
Thank you! The periwinkle color looks very pretty together with green.
