On my walks in nature, I always see only beautiful things. I rarely think that nature has another side. I met this when I walked along the river Kokra. Kokra in most parts of the current rapidly flowing mountain river. It originates below the ridge at Karavanke at an altitude of 1654 m. The river runs through the gorge, which is so narrow in some places that it is hardly space for the river. I made a picture after heavy rain. It was raining for several days, the snow melted in the mountains and the river became terrible. It has damaged and flooded many roads, destroyed huge trees, etc. Luckily, he did not hurt the houses they stand by the river. This is the other side of nature that we think very rarely. For comparison, the image of the river Kokra in normal weather conditions.

This usually happens with heavy rain
Flooding, now that is something I understand. It has been really bad near us for flooding in the past year.
I love watching the river, except when it is flooding!
I agree, It’s best to watch a calm river ?. But sometimes nature revenge for our mischievous acts.
That is very true! Love the picture!
My wife is from a city based on the river, it is just great to walk along the embankment or ride a boat
This city must be very interesting. I hope people do not have a problem with the river
I live a few minutes walk from the river which is quite calm.
The river Kokra is also quite calm only with severe rainfall, it becomes somewhat dangerous
Rivers are ok if the house is above the water level and well clear of it ……..I don’t live by a river but uphill from the Manukau harbour…
I agree, Pamela. I live about 300 meters from the river so that I do not need to worry
I live 45 mile away from River
I’m much closer. I live about 300 m from the river
I’d love to live by the river. True nature does release its fury from time to time, but she always nurtures and makes up for it.
I agree. I live about 300 meters from the river
I live right by the LA river, which is dry like 350 days of the year
I live far enough from the river that I can not worry
I could live in the river and keep my feet dry fifty weeks out of the year
Both pictures are excellent, dear Vidocka …
Thank you very much, Lado.
With great pleasure, dear Vida
You are welcome ….
We have lakes and there is a river but not close.
Fortunately, my home is a long way away from this river.
Oh yes I understand floods. We had our share here with people logging in sand bags around their homes trying to protect them, road closures due to flooding etc. If I remember there is an estimated damage from floods to houses and roads alike of some 30,000,000 dollars. Yes mother nature is on a revenge rampage sometimes for what we are doing to her.
I totally agree. We made a lot of damage to nature. Therefore, nature occasionally revenges.
It is probably nature’s way of keeping us in check.
I agree. My opinion is that we have done a lot of damage to nature.
People are prohibited to live in areas near the river because their life might be in danger when during the rainy season when heavy rain occurs.
In our country, we do not have this ban, so many families are left homeless.
