Any fruit is first a flower.
Starting from this reality I thought it was interesting to start a photography project entitled “From flowers to fruits and seeds”.
European barberry is a thorny shrub with gray bark and yellow wood. The flowers are yellow, with an unpleasant odor, arranged in racemes, which hang down. The fruits are about 1 cm berry, slightly curved, which ripens become strong red and have a strong sour taste, which some find invigorating and pleasant. They can be preserved in various forms (including pickles) and can be used throughout the year to enhance the taste of various dishes. They are extremely rich in vitamin C.

Never knew of this European Barberry. Anything rich in Vitamin C must be good.
Your writing makes me ponder. If now I am a fruit, when and what was my appearance as a flower before?
I think you could be a weather-resistant flower!?
Hahahahaha…
Do you think of me as edelweiss? That’s really an honor!!!
In my country edelweiss is a rare flower protected by law!?
Sadly all these berries are not edible. I just discovered the berries of the curry leaf try are edible.
These are edible! They are rich in vitamin C.
Another lovely photo, choice fruits this time as my favorite.
