The mint I grow in the screen room for the cats and for my hot tea has started growing. The Dude really likes going out getting s snack. Brendel will eat some only when the Dude is not looking. They are so funny to watch.
I love the smell of this mint, it takes me back to my childhood with my Grandmother. Great memories.

I had no idea that they liked regular mint as well as catnip. Awesome, I will have to plant some for sure. 🙂 Everything is growing now in my yard with all that rain. Happy flowers.
Very interesting, also heard about catmint, do you grow it?
I also have a planted mint and levando in the garden
Some mint, finally! ?
I loved to flavorize green tea with mint leaves. ?
I have a mint in the garden. I love Mint tea
Oh that is great, so do I , I need to make some soon.
I love mint too! I didn’t know that cats like it.
Yes they love it and it is sold as catnip. 🙂
I love mint! And it’s so easy to grow – even too easy if you plant it in the wrong place and it spreads like wildfire!
Yes it can be very invasive. I keep mine in a container in the screen room.
So true, we had such an experience with mint.
However, it was pleasant to get rid of all the ‘weeds’ because of the scent. ?
Yes, I love the scent, even as you walk on it 🙂
My kid brother had a girlfriend named Mint. Actually, that was just her nickname…
Yeah right, that is a different nickname.
she just really liked mint, so that’s what he called her
Did she use it in tea?
on pretty much everything if memory serves
Every time I read about mint in your garden I remember to plant it, but then always forget to start looking for the seeds!
may i interrupt… i don’t know if you have the same system in Indonesia, but here in Thailand, when we eat noodles or in the restaurant they serve fresh vegetables and one of them is mint. you can take a stem and it will grow like Sweet Basil
Wow! I don’t have that knowledge yet! Thank you I rarely eat dishes with mint as part of the vegetables, but my eldest sister is always enjoying infusion drinks with mint as one of the mixtures. I’ll just ask her a little to plant! Thanks againnnn!
Carol, my pleasure
Albert not the leaves… the stems. specially to the part where the leaf is growing.
Yeah, of course the stems, Maria dear friend. There are only a few plants that can be planted from its leaves or flowers, right?
Mavic, I have also heard of others planting with stems. Thanks for your input.
I started mine with a cutting from my dear neighbor. I hope you can remember to plant, your cats will love it!
I want to plant it, but hopefully, I keep remembering it after this. As I wrote in the previous post, memory sometimes folded and stored neatly in a warehouse drawer.
That is so cute about your memory, never heard it said like that, love it! I feel that way on many days too.
It’s great to grow your own food!
I bet the mint smells great!
And I didn’t know cats snack on mint!!
LOL
Yes it smells wonderful! I bring some in and put it in a dish so I can smell the fragrance. Yes they sell catmint in pet stores. They love it. And they even sell toys with mint inside. Drives them crazy!
Really? That sounds really interesting!
seems like cats have much more4 healthier snacks
Yes this is why my cats are so spoiled. 🙂
