The Maipo volcano in Argentina ominously presides over the placid scene in the foreground as the sunrise steals ever closer to the Laguna del Diamante. The lake is called “the diamond lake” because, on a clear day, the reflection of the volcano in it resembles a sparkling diamond.

Many places I would love to travel. This is one of those.

great picture Andre. I have always wanted to go to Argentina.
I visited Argentina and Chile, 20 years ago on board a warship my company had built for our Navy, the SAS Drakensberg. As part of her “sea-trials.” We were sourcing a contract from the Chilean navy to build them 4 submarines with Polaris-type sea to air capability. It never happened, perhaps it was a blessing, who knows? Beautiful countries, both.
i have been to Brazil but not further south. I’ve heard they are amazing!
