For an unskilled eye, this tree is hard to recognize in the forest, from a distance. It resembles the conifers by its symmetrical silhouette, the shape of the leaves like needles and their persistence during winter. However, neither the wood nor the bark of this tree contain resin, and its fruits, some red, fleshy grains, have nothing to do with fir cones.
I challenge you to identify this tree.
My previous Macro Monday – Can you identify this insect?

Your macro pictures are always amazing. I wish I remembered the things my father used to say about the names of plants. Oh well I suspect I guessed wrong.
Very unusual tree and your shot of it is wonderful!!! To my mind, it’s a common yew.
I went with the common yew.
I really cannot guess the tree but even then it is beautiful and you have captured it very well.
If I am not mistaken that is a cherry tree!
Cherry tree does not have leaves in the form of needles! Your answer is wrong!
I guessed at this beautiful photo.
i also voted. I hope I win the prize.
It’s very beautiful, and hopefully my guess is not wrong.
I think your answer was right! I was the one who was wrong lol
Thanks, but, are you sure, my friend?
Thank you, Albert! I hope so! I am waiting for your macro photos! Don’t you like macrophotography?
Actually I often post macro photos too, it’s just that with limited time, I’m a bit difficult to collect it, and usually, I always post it after taking the macro images without thinking of placing them as challenges post.
