Perched on top of the State of Michigan is Traverse City. We drove from Bloomington Indiana to upper Michigan for a couple of vacations.

We started our trip to Beaver Island Michigan in Traverse City. It is a stopping point, a way station on the way there. It is also a wonderful little town in Michigan.
My dad loved being outdoors. Over the course of my childhood, we spent many hours in Michigan. Dad attended and graduated from the University of Michigan. He was studying biology.
One of the stories I remember is of my parent’s pet Raccoon Robespierre, not named for the French revolutionary but the pirate.

it is around 14 c possibly 13 c
I would never swim in such water …. this is a real glacier ….. I swim in the sea when it is at least 25 degrees ….
it was very cold, but the air was warm so we had fun
I believe it was cold ….. you can’t put me in such cold water even if it’s very hot outside
