The fastest in-home wifi. It is a topic that makes me nervous. About as edgy as someone posting that hackers aren’t that right, IT experts are that bad, or that you should always use a browser that isn’t the big commercial browsers, All of it is advertising, and it is essential to remember there are two sides. When you consider that there are two sides, you begin to see a different picture. Let’s break out the different images.
- Fastest? Well, the fastest is a relative term. If something is quickest to the router in your house, then it is useless to you. Why? Well, none of us have the entire interest stored in our homes. So the router in your house is the front door of the internet. Suppose you stop there, ok. Most of us go beyond that, so we need the fastest available internet connection to points beyond our house.
- Safety? Or security! Remember this; it is essential when you consider the protection that you stop right now and patch your computer. Nobody is secure if their laptop is out of date. When a white hat (ethical hacker) finds a vulnerability in a product, they notify the company. That is called a zero-day exploit. The number of actual days that the company needs to fix is the risk. IF you work with a smaller company, the number of days tends to be much longer than with a larger company. Google (Chrome), Microsoft (Edge), and Apple (Safari) tend to keep those vulnerabilities patched in 30 days or less. Some of the smaller and less used browsers can take as long as 120 days. So, worried PATCH YOUR COMPUTER TODAY!!!!!
- Many of us have or do work for companies that have IT, teams. Let’s remember that IT jobs like customer service jobs (because they are) are not secure. Sometimes IT people have to help someone that doesn’t know how to do something. Sometimes the very next call they get is from someone trying to solve a problem for a hospital system before someone dies. We have to never generalize about people and professions. I know many bloggers that I respect. I know many that are self-appointed royals (I ignore them). I know many bloggers that I avoid their posts because they are offensive or divisive—all reasons to read or read the position of others.
By the way, I know many IT people that are puffed shirts. (self-important). I know many IT people that are great. The funny thing is the percentage of any one type of people in a profession, be IT expert or blogger is the same. There is the same number of beautiful professional people in both. There is also the same number of people that aren’t wonderful, in both.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing it. I have sent a new article to Virily. How many days do you think they will spend publishing it???? Any bets??’
so far they seem to be about a week to two weeks. It really frustrates me.
Ok. I will have to wait again.
i am so sorry. it isn’t helping the site.
Just wanted to let you know I connected with you on HubPages.
i will have to go read some of your posts there!!!
Considering that people try so hard in life it is not fair that there are so many scams going around. I have a question for you Since when have you been on Hubpages and have we ever connected there? I mostly post my poetry there. I tried some music posts and some others but they just sort of fell flat so now it’s just poetry.
Introvert convinced me I should post some of my longer tech posts there. I started in January, mostly just playing around with it right now
Perhaps you might be interested in trying out Medium and/or Vocal/
i have thought about it, i may. well time is the limiter. Do you like both of them?
I like to post on both. On Medium, I get some cents coming to me depending on how many read my posts, and on Vocal I enjoy writing about music, food, and the paranormal. I have finally worked up the over $20 and when I hit $35 I will get a payout. It is not really for the money I write on both but I enjoy the sites and I like to see how many reads I get each time. In other words, it is good practice and I can write about anything I wish.
i enjoyed your poem (I will find time next week to read more) on Hubpages!
I will look at both again, I am trying to cut my online time right now.
Thank you very much for the reminder and for sharing interesting information. I will look at your original posts.
thank you! two are podcasts i created this week on vacation!
A great reminder to watch out for the many scams all around us. More so lately it seems.
it makes me sad, I will keep doing these reminder posts!
My phone rings off the hook lately, all to voicemail and deleted.
we have a new beta program that does both home and cell phones. It has cut down the number of calls that get through.
Phone rings once and the network hangs up on SPAM. just have to wait for the 2nd ring!
Good deal, I am not surprised you have a program.
probably not a shock you are right!
