Once we get to the place we had made our destination, then what? You made it! Will you be content or look at it as another door closing and a new plan to come?
For me I have noticed that about every 10 years I feel the need to have change, not so much speaking about a personal relationship but things to do and adding new people to life, after all we do grow up more very year, right?
But there are those deep down life goals, things you felt like you were born to do and be, you have worked toward that… that feeling your entire life, what about when you get to the point that you know you are were you are supposed to be, do you live that life?
Will that life be satisfying enough to keep you still?

looking forward to downsizing on retirement but still working part time. Settling down in the quiet country.
I lived in the same place as a child my parents. didn’t move until they retired… Only moved 3 times when I moved out from my parent’s homes but now retired have moved 5 times in less than ten years and thinking about another move..It seems we have become a little nomadic in our old age…The adventurer in me is coming out…haha
Nice article. Without changes our lifes could be boring. Changing a home for living it’s a very good idea.
In my life i have lived more than 10 years in a house one time.
We had 5 different places we lived by the time I was 9.
By the time I was 17 we had 3 more places.
from 17 to 30 I lived in 9 places
so i guess while I don’t choose to move, I do move!
Wow! why did yall move so much?
i was born in Chicago.
my dad took a job in Bloomington (Indiana University)
then my dad took a job for UNESCO (Thailand)
my wife and I moved from Bloomington to Cincinnati.
Cincinnati to Indianapolis (we lived there 11 years in one house)
Indianapolis to Maryland
the first one was for my wife’s job, the next two were for my jobs!
Ahhhhh, following the work. I got it.
yup! my wife wants to move one more time. But this last move is follow the sun (she wants to live where it is warmer)!
I just moved to a place that really feels like home to me. Right now, for me, it’s about making the life I have dreamed of in childhood.
And I know you will be everything you were meant to be. Get busy on that book!
I am working on a few of them.
I am pretty settled at the moment but I don’t know for how long. You know I want to see NYC again and I want to find a way to make my writing work so that I am comfortable and I can get by. So I am glad as I make my plans that this is only the second day of the New Year
I know you will make it back home to NYC sooner or later.
I am much too old now to go moving about. I do go visit places when I can. I hope you find a place to be content for the 10 years.
Thank you I know I will, at this time of life I am changing jobs.
I think I have found my destination. Thought many times about moving back to the home place but changed my mind. Things are never the same when you leave.
I know! That is why I have not moved back to the old home place. I love it but… that life is over.
