we pause.
we are not engaged.
we are in the edge the gray between the white and black
the words between the words
the meanings not yet groked.
that is the edge
as we teeter
on the edge, holding the railing
and hoping
we do not fall
into the abyss beyond the edge.
falling for eternity
never to strike
the bottom
that moves always as we fall
in the edge
of the moment
at the end of the road.

How true it is that we do not have the time. I never have enough. In most cases, I always thank you. That’s how I learned from a child.
my kids learned to say thank you from a purple dinosaur!
it is very true, we are often without time.
Thank you for this poem because we all feel like we are on the edge right now.
funny this is I wrote this 9/12/2001
Yes, another time when things were on edge. 9/11 caused for me to begin doing more thorough research on everything.
i great up in the house of a scientist, trust but verify was drilled into me from an early age.
We never own time to tell it, hey, how about stopping for now I rest or do this. If it was the case, this world be chaotic, a billion times than it is now.
i like that thought hey time, stop for now! what a great concept. it is true of course that we don’t own time, but we can pretend that time does not own us.
Yes, we can pretend that. Sometimes, I feel being conscious of time every time (lack of better words) we might lose sanity. That’s why we escape to watch movies, play games or do something about it.
sometimes that is all we can do
Great song. I have experienced quite a few similar situations but I have not given up.
never give up it is a mantra i learned later in life!
Very well done. I have been in that place many times. On the edge, holding on. I decided to swim instead of sink. Thanks for your inspiration.
that decision to swim makes all the difference, doesn’t it!
