waving in the water
as thought wind blowing me
i cling to the bottom
the mud
the feel of sand between the toes of my roots.
The floor around me barren
empty
devoid.
my fingers reach for others
for more
but all that is
water.
the gentle taste of salt
stops me
from drinking
the salt drains
the fuild
pulls it away
as the edges that were me
no longer me
crumble
and fall
tot he bottom
of the endless shallow sea.

Good poem Doc, I know you visited NZ. Geologists found seashells on top of the Waitakere ranges. Most of NZ came right out of the sea and is between 2 plates, the Pacific plate and the Australian plate. We frequently have volcanic activity.
you had a vocano eruption just late last year right? NZ is on my final list of places to visit. I am down to only two nations!
Yes that was White Island, it always is having volcanic eruptions and I didn’t realise people were paying to be tourists there. Stupid to take people to a live volcanoe.
NZ is an excellent tourist spot and is very well worth seeing, there are other volcanic spots which are safer as long as safety guide lines are followed.
it is number one of my travel list.
Great! You won’t regret it!
Very nice poetry, Doc. I like a poem that I have to read and re-read, and gain more understanding at each turn.
i learned from a teacher in college who loved Ezra Pound. So there are messages within messages in the words!
You learned well. Ezra Pound has left us some great work.
thanks Norman, we spent a lot of time on American Poets (the teacher was anti-english poets). The next summer in the writing institute, we spent the entire summer on English poets.
i find myself bouncing between the two often.
I feel a little underwater lately. But I will emerge soon.
you will you are a survivor. perhaps you will find a new nest this week!
After I get through the services on Monday.
are they doing a streaming service?
my wife attends those frequently in the new world order.
I didn’t know that. But I read somewhere that most of our planet was under water.
it was in the past, the land where the great Nebraska sea once was, is now mostly dry.
hmm, wonderful nice doc
!
thanks Hamza that was very nice of you to say!
