but they dart away just out of reach
I grab
but clutching air
i come to the surface
and they are gone. silly string
does not hold them
as I spray the string
that grasps to gain
purchase
on moving molecules of air
that sloughing the string
flee into space
as we seek the shadows
that flee ever
grasping only air
only molecules so small
the laugh
and pass through keyholes
leaving only space
where shadows once had been.

Teen years are tough especially when you move from teen to young adulthood.
i struggled for a few years in that period!
I guess that we all chase shadows at some time in our lives, others make shadows, and still others, no longer see shadows, but maybe art forms instead.
Never be ashamed of the shadow world, but remember that it’s sadness that can sometimes open doors into love, which has no shadow, but our own, if we own our shadow.
i just didn’t want to bring people down, but thank you, the kind words were well received!
Please do not apologize. We all have these times in our lives. You expressed your feelings.
i have a book of these poems I wrote when I was 19, 20 years old. I was very confused. thanks though you made me feel a lot better!
It is therapeutic to get your feelings out and I em enjoying them.
it really was, back then. i look back now, at the things I was feeling and can’t connect to them now.
Those feelings were for that particular event that you were experiencing. No two traumatic events are ever alike.
that is very true, time heals most wounds!
Good and bad things happen to us in our lives. That is why we also have such memories.
my grandfather always said, memories are like coffee, no matter how you like it, there is always coffee that is too strong.
