I am going to wander off on a technology quest today. One of the things I read yesterday on the SnapMaker Facebook site, was that they, Snapmaker, had released PPE templates for their printers to an opensource site. Wow Doc, what does that mean? Well, it means that you can create a transparent plastic sneeze shield at home with your 3d printer. Now, I wish I had my Snapmaker (I am delayed because of COVID and won’t get it until July). Still, though, I would call out something positive going on in the tech world. The other positive thing I got from the tech world is that my former employer, in particular the reasons I worked there Bill Gates, has given more than 250 million dollars to help those researching COVID-19 cures.
I worked for the company for 15 years. During that time, I got to meet Mr. Gates several times, including having lunch with him twice. What he and Melinda (his wife) are doing to help others is fantastic. So I thought what other tech companies are doing things right now to make the world a better place in this time of trouble. The cellular networks are all doing a forgive period right now for mobile bills, not that you shouldn’t pay your bill. If you can, you should always pay your way. But if you can’t, they won’t be shutting off your cell phone. Insurance companies are reducing the amount of money we are paying for car insurance and returning that money to us.
Cloud providers are providing additional cloud assets to companies researching COVID-19 cures. So overall there are a lot of good things happening. I suspect we often find ourselves struggling to find good news. Right now, I know in looking for good news, I had to wade through a lot of bad news. I guess in times of trouble; we have to lift a few more rocks to find the good news. The other and finally good news I will share for today is the impact of people being home. Yes, the economic impact has been tremendous. But the effect on the environment has been amazing. Two days ago I saw a red fox in the field where my dog and I walk. Just standing there, waiting and so beautiful.
Nature is doing fine.

My good news is receiving a bit of money today at least something to tide me over.

I have written about different technical products but I don’ t know if I can really get into writing about technical stuff. If you gave me an example of what technical writing includes I’d have a better idea. I had never written about things like backlinks and so on but then I had to and I wrote up what they wanted.

I do not know the situation in your country. So it’s very difficult to comment. A lot of news is fake.
i think we let the reality of news shift from its origin.
The news was originally to be an authoritative presentation of Facts.

At least there are measures that have been taken to.ease the burden. In my country the government has requested interest on borrowed money should be reduced, has ordered land owners not to demand for rent for three months. One woman had told her tenants not to pay rent till the situation becomes better. The largest network provider has been requested not to charge customers for transferring money. It should be free for three months.
that is all good news! i hope governments will step in and force companies to play nice.
We all need good news and real information. I purposely avoid writing or commenting on topics that I am not familiar with or I can’t contribute to with useful information.
I treasure your opinion on any topic. But i do understand not commenting when we don’t feel comfortable.
The good news is that in the past 24 hours there have been no fatalities in the province of Valencia. The city where I live is in this province. This for phone companies is a lie. Last month, I delayed my payment by 1 day and disconnected my connection. Helping others is fantastic. But there is a lot of hidden money that even in this difficult economic situation will not go out of some people’s accounts.
most of the phone companies were not doing that, i am sorry yours did. It is not something people forget for certain!

I already said I’d throw one and radio and TV out the window ….. only covid i covid there and so all day …. the only good news is that the situation is improving if they don’t lie …. but now they are already guaranteeing what serious consequences the economy will suffer ….. how not if nobody works
