Friend Has Broken Bone

Just got a call from a friend. She fell from a ladder while working in the yard today and felt a sharp pain in her ankle and foot. She has been in the emergency room for hours. Her ankle is sprained, not broken. But she broke her big toe. She will be without a shoe for a few weeks and crutches.

The foot is an intricate structure of 26 bones, 33 joints, multiple muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics. That is a lot of bones in our feet. I know she is in lots of pain. It hurts to just hit your toe on something in the house. Cannot imagine a broken toe.

  1. Once I know I broke my big toe, but I heard nothing can be done for a broken toe. It healed fine! A skid feel on it, and when I looked at it every inch of it was black. I feel your friend’s pain and I hope she heals fast.

  2. One of my friend’s mother fell from a ladder a month ago and broke her leg in 3 different places. The x-ray was like a horror picture ?. She is recovering, but she has a metal plate and lots of screws holding her leg bones now.
I hope your friend will get better soon and her injury will heal fast ?.
