Fleabane ~ Macro Monday

This weed appears each year in my garden. The scientific name is erigeron. It is from a large species of plants in the daisy family. The English name, fleabane, is shared with related plants in several other genera, including the aster.

It appears to be derived from a belief that the dried plants repelled fleas or that the plants were poisonous to fleas.

I let it grow as it looks like a mini daisy. Very cool. Sharing with today’s Macro Monday challenge.

  1. A lot of people don’t like Mondays. So this challenge is making Mondays look really good. Yes, I think that is a daisy and all so cute too.
