This day last year in 2018, we had snow. I snapped this photo a Mourning Dove sitting in the snow filled deck feeder. It is cold today but no snow. Interesting to look back one year ago in my photo library to see what I was up to, the weather and the birds.

Very nice picture .. I do not remember what I was doing yesterday just to know what I was doing last year hahaha
Such a lovely capture, doves are so delicate and beautiful!
Yes, I was working in Hemet 2 hours away. I am much closer now. My oldest son had just gotten a promotion. I had just lost my dog of 20 years, over the summer, but thinking about a new puppy. I was also here on Virily like you!
A lot has changed since then? Amazing what can happen in a year.
Last year this time I was in journey. Nice post friend
I hope it was a good one.
Nice ..image of the dove and the snow. I could not remember what I did one.. year ago.??
Thanks, I am like that often.
I was working in a province.
That was good I hope.
Nice image of the dove and the snow. I could not remember what I did one year ago.
Thanks, I need photos to remind me sometimes.
You have a good point there about photos remind us of the past.
Beautiful photo, pleased to see the Mourning Dove survives in the colder weather.
Yes I am also glad to know they survive.
I love doves. I can imitate the sound they make with my flute!!
That is so cool. The doves are a favorite.
I often look at old pictures and always find something interesting
Yes same here my friend.
Last year at this time I was struggling to come up with dog themed art…
A big difference a year can make right!
this year it is all about pigs…
To adapt to cold temperatures, the dove is far superior to mine!
Last year, January 15, I woke up, then had breakfast, then worked, then…
And that is where your mind stops right!
Yep! That’s true…
The dove seems to not be affected by the cold …
Hmm… I can’t even remember what I did yesterday … lol
It is amazing to see the birds in the winter. They fluff the feathers to add a layer of insulating air. Think our layering of clothes to keep warm. It adds pockets of air too.
… this dove just discovered me with he camera and was getting ready to fly.
Carol, you really knows a lot about the living things around you.
I’ve no idea how they keep warm… always thought they’d just migrate during winter
That is a lovely photo. I love nature and wildlife. As to what I was doing this time last year, I do not remember. I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday!
Thank you, no snow this year not yet anyway. 🙂
