It is a mix of what we see, and what is there
in the quiet.
The corner filled with dust bunnies
fleeing their foe
the vacuum that
firing up
smoking from the internal combustion engine
that sucks the air across the floor
and shatters dust bunnies everywhere it goes.
This time though the engine silenced
we stand and wait.
With the passage of
the second hand
around the dial
again and again
we choose then to sit
to wait in quiet memory.

Some days I wake up with a song in my head and it goes on and on until I go to bed again.
earworms can be the best feeling, or the worst!
True, sometimes they can get very annoying, especially when I need to focus.
i find for me, that i have to listen to talk radio while working, otherwise, I get lost in the music!
Back in my days of youth when a radio was constantly playing I remember certain songs that when I went to bed and the radio was off I actually could hear in my head. Now I love to listen to my saved up Favorites on YouTube and even if there are songs I know every word to I still enjoy listening to them.
earworms can be fun, they can remind of us things that were!
Music has always been my warm place to fall, if you will. It has gotten me through, and continues to get me through the dark times. And the good times as well.
the same for me, music is the one thing that always makes me feel better!
Music is so universal. It is what I call food for the soul.
having been to New Orleans, and knowing you are from there, I would expect no less! I remember wandering down bourbon street listening to the Zydeco music and just walking.
course the rest of them were hitting every bar on the street!
Earworms are usually welcome in the beginning, but nearly always overstay their welcome, and can, in extreme cases, put me right off an old favourite 🙁
they can sometimes, it becomes a dreaded song on the radio!
