During my walk, I was sitting in a nearby park. I noticed the trees and, above all, the grass that birds were jumping on. Grasses are much more connected to our lives than we imagine. Not only do they give us food, directly and indirectly, through the pasture of domestic animals, through meat and milk. In Asia, they use grass as a building material. Grasses are undoubtedly important in our garden as well. They cover about 9000 species, grouped into about 650 genera. Grass is widespread worldwide, from polar circles to the equator, from mountains to the sea.

We have a lawn on our terrace that cools the hall below. The only thing we get rid of are weeds.

I grew up in Southern Indiana. There was a time when we spent hours outside during the summer. We were always curious about how and where things grew!
