Since Coronavirus affecting the old is sure to kill them this ex-nurse, Professor June Andrews, feels that is one way to unblock hospital beds.
Old people, the world over many of whom are subjected to torture what with Alzheimer’s and such diseases could die a more dignified death if they contracted this disease.

That is a positive way of looking at things. But I’d say that is not the way things are with the corona virus.

Most old patient die of pneumonia and they also have bed sores. Eventually they die a natural death but wishing they will contract the virus is I’ll wish.

Perhaps she has been a witness to the torment and torture seniors go through in that this ailment perhaps would be a better option – just saying.
The ex-nurse has valid points but the fact is coronavirus isn’t a blessing at all. The ethical features should be approached from a different perspective.
What the ex-nurse feels according to me is while this disease cannot be controlled atleast she thinks those elderly who are tortured by loneliness and neglect will rest in peace with dignity.

I can see only one good thing from the virsus, people will stay home when they are sick and not infect others with the sickness.

Generally speaking. Probably no one.
Most seniors today are left to fend for themselves more out of compulsion and not by choice. Children have their own load of issues to deal with.
