I bought a few books written by J.R.R. Tolkien, including the three books of Lord of The Rings and this book, The Hobbit. This book was published in 1937, and I read that Tolkien first wrote the story for his own children.
My eldest son has just finished reading this book, and he is very excited about the story, hence he continues to read the rest of the books. I decided to put down the Chronicles of Narnia (I still have two books to read), and pick up The Hobbit first, so I can discuss the story with my son.

I love the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings and also C S Lewis as well with the Narnia series..
I think it is best to read the Hobbit first, before reading the Lord of the rings.
What do you think of the movies by Peter Jackson?
That is a very popular series to read and watch.
I read quite a lot in my youth! Now the only books I read are books about photography!
I read this many years ago, I love books. I have actually read all of Tolkien’s books including his translation of Beowolf.
