I love these Nandina shrubs in my garden. There are many varieties to choose from. Mine are called Blush Pink Nandina. They do not get very tall. And they offer a pretty color in the spring through fall. They are actually more of a burgundy than a pink color.
The contrast between the mature leaves, which are a rich shade of green, and the new pink leaves, is striking. From spring through fall, these green shrubs are topped with pink leaves!
A second colorful show begins in the fall, when Blush Pink Nandina turns a deep shade of purplish-red and retains this vivid color throughout fall and winter.
Nandina leaves and berries are toxic and may be harmful to birds, humans, grazing animals and cats. But mine are planted in an area where my cats cannot get to them.
Below is another photo showing the entire bush in my front garden. The above photo was taken today as the sun was shining on the leaves creating a great color.

The leaves look quite similar to a plants that I’ve seen in my hometown. I’m not what they are called.

Beautiful plants that I like because of the color combination of the leaves. We call it Heavenly bamboo.

I have seen these, I think. I love the almost mottled leaves, very cool!
They have sort of a texture on the leaves, you can see it in some of the leaves here.
I will have to look and see if anyone is growing it around our neighborhood
And I was about to ask if they’ve edible fruits ,,, hhaha
No fruits with these shrubs, only pretty colors. 🙂

I am seeing the pink, but where’s the blue?
No blue in these. I have hydrangeas on the other end of the garden that should have blue blooms. 🙂
it occurs to me that military games are red vs blue. what if gardens do the same thing when nobody is watching?
