Bluebird Evening

Yesterday, right at sunset a bluebird appeared in the backyard. I have the bluebird house up and it is ready when the bluebirds are ready. They have been fighting the sparrows, as they do each year. The photo is more of a silhouette due to the lighting from the sunset.

I too have been cleaning the house several times a day of garbage. The ratbirds (sparrows) make nests out of anything they find. And they will kill the bluebirds. So the battle has started in my backyard. You can see below on of the rat nests I cleaned out of the house. The bluebirds use only pine straw and their nests are very neat.

Hopefully the bluebirds will win. I will continue helping as I do each year. Eventually there will be a new bluebird family in Dustin’s garden. Waiting on my Bluebirds of Happiness stories for 2019. Patience.

Enjoy nature photography. Amateur self-taught photographer and love every minute of the photos from my yard and Dustin's garden. Sunset views from my deck are very peaceful to watch, capture and share. I have two cats, Brendel and the Dude. I share both special and funny moments I capture of them with you.

Also enjoy seeing and reading your posts from all over the world.

    • Yes, many don’t know but it is never-ending until finally the sparrows gives up. I will never make a sparrow house, not enough room to have them both. They would always be bothering the bluebirds. I will not encourage them.

    • I absolutely love them Albert, always feel Dustin around when I see them. Dustin gave me a small crystal bluebird when I was sick one year and told me if I keep it close, I will always be happy. This was maybe two years before I lost him. I keep it nearby always.

YEs, this photo is just showing what I and the bluebirds deal with having the sparrows around. They use trash and whatever they can find to stuff in the nest.
