The Brdo pri Kranju Castle is the best maintained and beautifully equipped mansion in Slovenia. The Renaissance mansion was built at the beginning of the 16th century (1510). The castle has changed many owners. The castle is today a protocol facility of the Republic of Slovenia and hosts presidents, representatives of royal families, diplomats, and other distinguished world personalities. 1. We don’t have many castles in NZ. Mainly built for someone who misses castles in their home country. I have often visited a road with a half a castle often. Its privately owned.
There is a castle in Dunedin I have never been to Dunedin.
I have visited 2 castles in England, Warwick Castle and Farmborough Castle in 1982 in the UK .Very impressive. Some buildings like a castle in Israel.

    • I do not know why, but in our land, most castles are in such a “form”. Castles in other countries are built in a different form, and for me, these castles are more interesting.

  2. Looks very quaint for a castle mansion. Seems ideally located also. We have one replica of a castle here in Canada made by a man for his wife if I remember well located near or on Thousands Islands. I have never seen or visited it but I love old architecture. It looks so much stronger and sturdier and prettier than the new high rises in glass…

  3. Nice photo the black and white give it a dramatic look. I love castles and have visited some. I also love spooky and haunted castles but have not had the pleasure of visiting one of those.
