It’s been rainy for over a week here. I like the peaceful spring rain, but there were also hailstorms.
I managed to take a lot of photos though, and I really like plants with raindrops on them. Here are two snail photos I took.
Do you know whether the snail in the cover photo is a baby snail or just a small species? I think that it’s a baby, but I am not sure.
Do you think that snails are cute? Maybe it sounds weird, but I find them very cute. Especially the adorable thirsty pal. If you look at them from the back, they resemble cats a little bit. What do you think?

That’s an interesting perspective. Now I am thinking about cuteness and beauty, and how they can be defined.
The definition is in accordance with the mind and eye that has been agreed upon, determined and taught by the environment around us; parents, schools, cultures, the wider community, etc. except we can see through our soul’s eyes to see everything as it is.
I think they are cool to photograph, don’t like em in my garden. I don’t think they are cute though, just very interesting, and beautiful.
I agree with youa about that, it can be a pain to have them in the garden.
Are snails cute? It all depends on who you ask… Hedge your bet and ask another snail

I personal don’t think so, but that is because my basis for comparison is mammal biased
Mammals and birds are my all-time favorites.
Although it would be interesting to generate an objective list of cuteness as applies to snails…

Ish… for mammals cute is a large head and eyes, small body and fluffy. This looks like an infant and we are hardwired to react to them in a certain way. I don’t know how to do this for snails- Either I could try and find a snail that meets the mammal bias or I could try to determine what makes a snail cute from a snail POV
What you are saying makes sense, but I don’t think that the cuteness of certain physical features is necessarily that universal. Or maybe I know too many weirdos, lol.
However, the snail looks fragile and shy, so I think it could be considered cute based on these traits. As for its appearance, the silhouette of it resembles a cat a little bit, in my opinion. (Maybe I am one of these weirdos.)
We can make a poll with snail photos and see if particular snails appear cuter based on the votes.
That would be the beginning of an objective criteria for determining human defined cuteness in snails… Count me in!

Nice photos, yes snails are cute however they get eaten by birds and snails eat your fruit and vegetables. they are great in the right place.
