This day is Saturday, and while most of you have a Black & White Friday in the rest of the world, today in New Zealand it is Saturday.
This photo of a Honey Eater bird, was taken in 2014, in Tasmania, on Bruny Island. I really liked Tasmania and visiting it. We just got to the airport in Hobart and both Warwick and myself felt completely at home as soon as the plane hit the tarmac.
All we had to do is walk in and hire a car and we were free to go. If I could import the petrol prices, which are much cheaper than NZ petrol prices I would.
Tasmania is a lovely place to visit if you like friendliness and nature.
What a great looking bird indeed.
Thanks so much Jenna, glad you like the Honey Eater.
Beautiful capture. I love it
Thanks so much Artbytes, glad you like this bird.

The bird is gorgeous. I see her for the first time.
Thanks so much Vidocka, yes it was also my first time. It is an Australian bird
Surely this bird is very small. I see it for the first time.
So did I it was a first and glad I took its photo. Thanks Elenka
Wonderful bird my friend … I see her for the first time
Thanks so much Lado, glad you like it.
Honey eater? Finally you post something with a name I can pronounce…
Thanks so much Alex. Most of the names that are hard to pronounce are Maori names
is that why they’re so fierce? years of getting laughed at for mispronouncing words?
Maybe that’s true, the Maori language has less constanents than the english language.
but they make up for it with the liberal use of vowels
It looks like it’s having a bad feather day.
Yes, it does but still is a nice bird. I saw another Honey Eater in Huonville and that looked exactly the same
That is such a cute little bird. I love it. I’d love to visit Tasmania.
Thanks so much Coffee Queen, glad you like the photo
What great markings on this bird.
Yes, they are, thanks Carol
