There is something about unboxing that makes for a fun experience. In particular, as you can see from the included pictures I am unboxing a new 3D printer. SNAPMAKER is an all-metal 3D printer. It also includes a laser for cutting both objects and doing laser engraving. I am going to make a bunch of Labs’ Lair Too wooden drink coasters for home and the boat! I guess it is sort of one of those things I like to do, I am not sure there is the same level of interest for others.
A couple of other things to think about – the first being office cleaning. Yes, it is my annual New Years resolution. No, I haven’t managed to eve get the entire office clean. But this time at least I have taken more things out of my office than I have brought in. Since I get a lot of cables, it means I am getting things out of
One of the cleanup tasks I am going to get done is a little more cable management. Right now I have too many cables lying on the various surfaces. I need to untangle them and move some of them around.
My last technology wanders today the culmination of the last few days. I’ve spent a lot of time on AR, VR and Transactive Energy in the past couple of weeks. I need to wrap the two distinct series up in the next couple of days. The fun part is that they are extremely interesting topics. However, they are also topics I could write about for weeks, and I am not sure there is that large of an audience for that. I will wrap them up in the next few days.
Cable management is a pain, but it needs to be done
In a wireless future the last cable won’t be seen!
but until then, we shall have unruly cables to wrangle….
true dat as my sons always say. Then, when I say it they look at me, amazed that Dinosaurs can hear.
Wires are the bain of my existence right now. I need to look at some of the new cable management systems.
If you find a good one, perhaps you might write and article about it? Mostly I just use velcro…
nice post

Would love to have a 3D printer. Have fun!
I need more long conference calls to finish putting it together!
You have inspired me to clean out the last 20 years worth of cell phones, cables, cartridges to printers that died years ago, chargers to dead electronics, and all the various dinosaurs of the computer age i still hoard like a pack rat, claiming tons of drawer and office space. Most useless for anything but recycling.
I have been getting rid of chargers that charge things I no longer own for a long time.
I guess i had hope of multi-use applications, but I guess the 1993 plug head style of my motorola brick mobile phone will never be in demand again. Or that same phone, still in a drawer here somewhere…….
I remember the old Motorola phones. I actually had 5 different Delorme Chargers in a drawer. I kept them for years, then last year I realized I don’t own any Delorme Devices anymore! Now, they are sitting in a GoodWill bin!
