Tech Wiz typing in the virtual world!

Over the course of the last few years, I have watched some interesting technologies appear and grow. One of the most interesting technologies. For example, once we used cameras. Now people still use cameras, but the percentage of pictures taken by Cell phones is more than ½ of all picture taken now.  The concept I have talked about for many years, the Screen as a Service continues to expand. Well, it expand, the capabilities in the space are increasing. For example, the Oculus Go headset has the Big Screen beta application. It is a very interesting application because on your desktop or laptop you can download the software, and show your PC screen on your Oculus Go headset.

I am typing this blog on my pc but watching it via the big screen on my go Headset. I understand that at this point you have to be well past the normal geek range for that to be interesting. You can today, see what you are typing on your screen why do you need a headset. In the future, the value is the extension of your desktop in the 3d world. You can use the Oculus Go tomorrow, to create different interactive areas. One example I always use is my comfortable office chair, turn that into a library. I am already seated and comfortable. In a room with good speakers, make that the music room. Now your house doesn’t have to be the way it is, to be the way you want it to be!

The world of tomorrow has many surprises yet to share. I know, for example, that car keys are the first thing I am ditching! The next thing I am ditching is my shoes. My feet won’t touch the ground ever again in the future. My hoverboard will give me a chance to float everywhere I go. I shall float above the world! Well now that I think about it, I really don’t have the balance to do that. I would probably get on the hoverboard and fall off. Most likely in virtually the same motion. Although it wouldn’t be virtual it would be on the hard ground of the real world! In a virtual world you can jump down a six-foot wall, in the real world I would be limping for a month if I did that.

What do you think?
