Rose of Sharon bushes have started blooming. This one was in the shadows of the sun. It caught my eye. There are bees gathering around as they have found the pollen! I have to be careful taking photos as they will sneak up while I have my eyes on the camera lens. Nature is full of surprises. Lots of rain now which will help the flowers grow. What is growing in your garden?
The photographs of the flowers you share are exquisite. Being from Florida I sometimes wonder what were the flowers Ponce de Leon saw upon his arrival. The variety and colors had to be splendid for him to name the place Florida (“full of flowers”).
You are so very kind. Thanks and sorry so late!
woohoo ❤ this one, great picture!!! hmm toootally of topic.. I wish to say, i like your cover image
Thank you Karin. My cover photo is in Dustin’s garden.

I have a variety of flowers growing from the last tenant. Crocues are my favorite a wonderful being to mild temperatures
I have never grown them before but they are gorgeous.
Lovely flower
Thanks Olga
The unpleasant thing about this flower is that there is a lot in it. She looks like a pretty woman.
Thanks 🙂
The pollen is fabulous!
The bees agree! Thanks 🙂
I bet they love it!
Yes indeed! They get covered in pollen. 🙂
Lovely striking flower! Love the red centre…
That is what the bees love. The pollen! Thanks 🙂

I am familiar with this plant in South Africa but it’s known as a Hibiscus? Do you think it is the same thing? Great photo.
I was thinking the same thing, Gina, so I looked it up. It turns out both hibiscus and rose of Sharon are in the genus Hibiscus: they’re cousins!
Yes they are in the same family. Thanks 🙂
looks lovely
Thanks 🙂
Those are beautiful. I’ve never seen them before. Great photo.
Thanks 🙂 I love the Rose of Sharon. My Grandmother always had them.
