Rock Hunting for Fossils!

My grandfather used to work for San Diego’s Geo Society.

A while back I was going through a cabinet in the garage and found this tin. When I opened it I found these fossils.

Some of them I know the name of but maybe some of you may be able to help tell me what the others are. Anyway, enjoy. It sure was a great thing to find.

#2 Crinoids

They were animals that look like plants that lived around 500 million years ago in the Cambrian times.

Yes definetly a bone a limb with a hollow for another limb to fit in it

#8 Teeth and Jaw Bone

About the size of my palm. The front smaller tooth is about the size of a medium sized dog, and the one in back of it the size of a large dog.

Gosh, you have your own fossils. All I can say is WOW. Great find and from your grandfather no less. I tried to write comments on each and every one of the pictures but Virily froze up every time so I gave up. Beautiful pictures of days and remains gone by forever…

you had my attention at Fossils. There used to be an online DB for fossils I will see if I can find it, should help you identify those!!!!
