The average size is between 2 and 7 mm, but there are also funnels that can reach 2.5 cm. Ants are the smartest insects. Their brain contains around 250,000 nerve cells, being the best developed of all insects. By comparison, the human brain has 10 million cells.An ant can pick up 20 times its weight. Ants use antennas for both tactile and odor sensations. Each ant has 2 stomachs: one gets food for itself and one for the colony.Ants are omnivorous. They consume insects, larvae, eggs and fruits, leaves, vegetal material.
