Hovering Butterfly Caught on Butterfly Bush

I have a butterfly bush planted in Dustin’s (and my Dad’s) garden. It continues to grow more each year. I plan to get more plants that attract both butterflies and hummingbirds. I am always surprised, as I am with the roses, that there are still blooms in October. I enjoy this garden in the morning with my coffee as well as all times of the day. Watching the sunset from my deck is also a nice time to enjoy the garden, the sun rays highlight the beauty.

Butterfly Bush Blooms

This butterfly bush is in Dustin's (and my Dad's) garden and attracts many butterflies. The blooms are tiny, this is a macro shot.

Pink Butterfly Bush

This pink butterfly bush has been on my deck through the entire season. I love the color and plan to find a place in the garden to plant it.

Butterfly Hovering

Caught this Fritillary butterfly hovering and looks like trying to hide from the camera. They are beautiful perched on the white blooms.

The butterfly bushes have beautiful flowers, and I love the color you have there! You are lucky to have a deck with mild temperature to enjoy beautiful view!

I just love when those bushes are carpeted in butterflies – I have several here too! Do the same bushes attract hummingbirds? We don’t have any of those over here 🙂

  Yes the butterfly bush does attract hummingbirds. Anything with nectar attracts both. You probably have similar bushes with nectar. Thanks Norman. 🙂

    I will have to try and get some of the hummingbirds before they leave. They migrate to the south each year.
