Introducing the White Eye, I always thought it just a New Zealand Bird but I also saw them in Tasmania, Australia. The explanation, is that often birds from Australia can be blown over the Tasman Sea by the equinox winds all the way to New Zealand.
Now some now call it a Wax Eye, but I grew up with White Eye as its name and Im sticking with that name.
It loves nectar and in the winter they love eating lard or sugar water. If you put that out in a NZ garden you will see many of these birds.
This bird could easily camouflage itself among the green leaves. Interesting circle around the eye.
This is true, thanks Bradley.
I love Nature and Nature is self explainatory
Thanks so much Best Feeds
That’s a nice birdie. It looks like a parrot. c”,)
Not a parrot, a white eye.
I agree. It resembles a parrot. c”,)
This bird is very interesting. Thank you Pam for the first time
Thanks Elenka glad you like the White Eye.
Even its feather so lovely green ash leaves, it has good camouflage. Indeed, the white ring around the eyes is special like its name.
Thanks so much Albert.
