I am sure we all familiar with the old slogan “If you want something to be done, do it yourself.” This blog is one of those stories that makes you wonder “What is going on here?”
Bryan Cureington who lives in Monroe Louisiana went to a Muse Food Mart recently to spend $10 on a scratch Louisiana Lottery game called “Make My Year” recently.
When Bryan decided to have one of his relatives scratch the lottery ticket to see if he won a prize, the relative threw the lottery ticket into the trash can outside of the Muse Food Mart since he thought that the ticket was not a winner..
Bryan decided to look into the trash can outside of the food mart to make sure that the lottery ticket was not a winning ticket, he was shocked to learn that he won the grand prize of $200,000.
Bryan then had a chat with officials of the Louisiana Lottery to make sure that he had the winning lottery ticket.
The officials of the Louisiana Lottery confirmed that he won the $200,000 dollars in the “Make My Year”.
After Bryan will pay Uncle Sam or the Federal government and the State of Louisiana their fair share of taxes, Bryan will receive the net prize of $140,000 dollars.
Maybe next time Bryan buys a lottery ticket, he will scratch the ticket himself to make sure that the lottery ticket is indeed a ticket that did reward him with a prize.
Interesting story. Years ago, my boss and I had shares on a Lotto ticket and we got 2 1/2 thousand NZ dollars each. Once I won $100 on a Scratchie.
Not often do I win tickets now, as I don’t want to put my hope into winning lotto and hate being disappointed.
However, someone has to win it.
Only bet as much money as you are prepared to lose.
I remember a former talk show host in New Orleans who tell his listeners to gamble money that you can afford to lose in playing in a casino or the lottery.
The last I won the lottery was before the year 2000 for about $10. It was the first and last purchase because the lottery was banned in Indonesia which legally banned various forms of gambling.
I did not know that gambling in Indonesia is against the law. In America there are a handful of states that forbid lottery playing.
If there is gambling in Indonesia then it must be a ilegal dark gambling.
Same thing was happening in Louisiana before the Louisiana Lottery became a reality a few years ago.
I have won money from a scratch-off at times but never thousands lol

I need that kind of luck, I have bought scratch offs & won a small amounts
but nothing to really do a LOT of good that we could SURELY use right now.

You are right since the odds of winning the grand prize on any scratch off game is a very long shot against anyone.

His guardian angels were watching over him and he is a lucky man. His relative, however, is a fool and most likely will never get very far in life.
I feel sorry for the relative who nearly the money by throwing the ticket into the trash can.
