This butterfly was in an old Live Oak Tree high above me. This is the only angle I could get. It works for the challenge. Enjoy.
Do you know what kind of Butterfly this is?

Thank you Ma’am! My pleasure as always. Thanks for stopping in Courtney!
I never know the butterfly name but it is clear that it is cute in your picture.
I had forgotten its name, the swallowtail. Glad you liked it. : )
It’s a great shot, Kim! I think that’s a … black and yellow butterfly?
Aha!!! How I didn’t know is beyond me. lol, thanks NORMAN! Grins.
it looks like Papilio glaucus to me
Ah yes, you are correct. Thanks Alex. We call them swallowtails.
I’ll stick to the genus and species if you don’t mind…

I can appreciate that, but consider the opposing view- these terms are specific and can’t be mistaken for anything else, whereas an informal term can be misleading or misunderstood…
But as you aren’t a specialist, you can probably get away with using layman’s terminology
There it is a beautiful Swallowtail. Love seeing these.
A great shot!
I knew I had heard the name, thats it! Thank you Carol.
