When I was on holiday in Spain recently, we visited the cathedral in Malaga. It was such a treat to visit there, it’s so beautiful. The cathedral is a Roman Catholic church. It was built between 1528 – 1782. Imagine taking over 200 years to build! The interior is in Renaissance style. The interior of the church is also of baroque style. The 17th century choir stalls was designed by Luis Ortiz. The north tower is 84 metres high.
If you ever get to visit Malaga, then I would urge you to visit the cathedral. There is a small charge to get in, and it gets very busy with tourists, but it’s worth it once you get in as it really is beautiful.
I would love to see something so beautiful and ornate.
My late husband told me about this cathedral which he visited when he was in Spain, but I never got to see it. Well, not yet anyway.
Oh I hope you get to visit it sometime Ann, it’s so beautiful.
Such beautiful details in this cathedral.
From the photos you’ve shown it seems that Malaga Cathedral is as beautiful as you say.
Thankyou Albert. Yes, I really enjoyed visiting this cathedral.
Pleasure is mine, CoffeeQueen
What a shame all that beautiful art is up where you can’t really see it…
Yes I know what you mean as it is really lovely to see.
I don’t see the point of having art and then putting it somewhere that folks can’t appreciate it
Wonderful post! I look at it as another sign that I should visit Spain soon. I’d love to read more about your trip.
Thankyou Ellie. Yes, it was lovely to visit the cathedral. I took lots more photo’s, so will do another blog soon!
Spain is a beautiful country, Malaga associates me with ice cream. But now I have also seen some of her beauty in the photos.

I was in Malaga when my wife and I visited Spain in 1984. I wish I knew about this cathedral when I was there.
Yes it’s lovely Gary. Hopefully you’ll be able to visit the city again and visit the cathedral.
