La Liga ~ 9/15/20

The big match for Week 1 in Spain’s La Liga is tonight with Sevilla on the road against Atletico Madrid.  Last season, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla both had seventy points in the standings, but Atletico Madrid ended up in third place because of goal differential.

However, Sevilla came away with the hardware last season after winning the UEFA Europa League trophy.  Both teams did not really dip into adding new signings.  The only new addition is when Sevilla added midfielder Marcos Acuna yesterday from Sporting Club de Portugal.
