I Don't Know Him!

Oh so tired of the drama. Oh so tired of people making sweeping comments and judgements. I have never met this man. I did not vote for him and still I respect the position he holds. It comes with tremendous responsibility and pressure. I am hopeful that he does a good job.

I don’t understand the total hatred of someone whom you don’t know in person. Everything you get is second hand information. Many of the one liners and the reports I see are very negative. Still are they taken out of context. I wonder what would happen if people had access to  my very worst moments and felt free to share them at will.

I simply don’t see how spewing hate helps anyone. I see people call him a horrid person. I don’t see how that judgement can be make if you don’t know him. You may not like his politics, but do you know the man, I don’t know.

  1. People make useless and baseless comments about other people all the time. Some of those “other people” include American presidents. If you’re in politics you know that there is never a shortage of criticizers, naysayers, and such like, It comes with the territory.

Not everybody is spewing hate rhetoric at Donald J. Trump, our Current POTUS. Most Americans know how to discuss the political climate of their own country and not got tossed to and fro by outrageous comments and “trash talk” comments that have no substance and are not based on facts.

Several of our presidents are honored as this nation’s founding fathers, Even though I wasn’t alive back then, I’m pretty sure there were a few citizens who spoke openly against them and about them. Some remarks may have been personal. But I doubt the majority of comments were.

It’s not about personal attacks. It’s about the very serious business of nation building. Everybody in America has the right to free speech. The ones who have something to say AND the ones who talk loud and ain’t sayin’ nothing!! God bless America.

By the way, I’ve lived through every presidential administration since Dwight Eisenhower. I didn’t KNOW any of the presidents. How many American citizens actually KNOW the person they voted for (or did not vote for) to be president?

Why do you have to KNOW somebody to draw a conclusion? Isn’t a tree known by the fruits it bears? ( brainyquote.com/quotes/saint_basil_395043 ) Ignore the drama. Inspect the “fruit”.

  2. This man has done nothing but promote racism and xenophobia. You reap what you sow. And what respect does he deserve ? Perhaps the same amount he showed the last president, insisting that he show his birth certificate because in racist Donald Trump’s worldview a black man couldn’t be the legitimate leader of the free world.

    • I simply disagree. Racism and xenophobia are not what I see or hear. I have stopped listening to reports totally and listen to his words only. Why, because I don’t need to know how others interpret his words, I need to know what I hear and understand from his words. I believe you reap what you sow. There are millions who love the man. I don’t think he is perfect by any means.I personally have never met a perfect person.

President Obama had his issues as well, with many. My first issue in his presidency was honestly the Nobel Peace Price. In my opinion, there is nothing one person could do in 22 days that would earn that “honor”, it was simply bought and paid for. That has nothing to do with race.

Corruption comes with money. I believe there is a degree of corruption with every politician and I don’t think anyone is perfect. It’s kind of hard to explain racism to a native American, perhaps we were just raised differently in my family. The color of someone’s skin is not a personality issue. The way a person behaves is much more telling.

Feel free to call people names. Judge those you don’t. Create peace or chaos and you are correct, reap whatever we sow.

I also believe people can change, grow and learn. Name calling doesn’t typically help anyone and most of all hurts the person who does the name calling.

      • Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on October 9,2009- 10 months, not 22 days into his presidency. The award was more of an acknowledgement of how the world community responded to his efforts to have dialogues built on mutual respect.

If Donald Trump succeeds in ending the Korean conflict and makes progress towards reducing tensions in that area, he will deserve consideration for that prize.

My dislike for Trump is a result of things I have seen and heard him say over the past few years. I have a 12 year old son with autism. Seeing a presidential candidate make fun of a disabled reporter didn’t endear him to me. My wife is the daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants and her grandfather had Mexican ancestry. When Trump said Mexico was full of rapists, it left me concerned as I have two children who have Mexican ancestry.

Perhaps millions love him, Millions loved Hitler, that didn’t make him a good leader.

      • Whatever you may feel about this man, he has turned the US into a laughing stock around the world. The trust and respect which America had built up over decades (since WW2) has been thrown into the gutter. Even if America does not disgrace itself again at the next election, it will take many years to rebuild what has now been lost.

    • I assume she’s a pretty tough lady. I laugh when people say she married him for his money. She has much more. I don’t know them personally and I wish them the best.
