Here we are on day two of my Bluebird blog. And yes we have a second egg. Two eggs now in the house, in Dustin’s garden. More excitement added to my day. Remember, they only lay one egg per day. I never know how many the final total will be. I will only know when I check the box two days in a row with the same amount of eggs. Then the female will be done. The next step will start. But for now let’s keep the excitement going. Stay tuned for more updates.
Keep your fingers and toes crossed that everything continues smooth with no problems. I am checking the house a few times a day to make sure the eggs are ok. I also am keeping mealworms closeby. The male has been feeding the female the worms. I will try to get a photo of that. So sweet. Now maybe you can all understand why these are my Bluebirds of Happiness.
Would you like to guess how many eggs this bluebird will lay? If so, add it to your comment below.

I am certain that once bluebirds have ‘chosen you’, you are now responsible for trying to help them.

Lovely post Carol, thats a great treasure.
Yes they are treasures indeed, thank you.
These bluebirds are also special because they visit in Dustin’s garden.
Hoping today will bring another surprise.
So sweet, Carol! I will say 5 eggs this time and I can feel the happiness from your home! =)
Thanks so much and we will see soon if you guessed correctly.
Oh my goodness. TWO NOW!!! How many have they laid in the past? I can’t remember.. 3? I am staying tuned.. : D
Yes Kim. Usually three to five and sometimes six.
That’s nice. They are two now.
Yes thanks and hopefully more today.
I can wait. It is like a countdown. c”,)
I know, I feel the same way. I look at the house outside my window and cannot wait for the next day to check it! Very exciting.
I can imagine. We are having surprises and this is a good example.
Such a beautiful thing to experience. Not sure how many eggs bluebirds lay but I will guess 6
It is a magical miracle to witness. I have links in the post with more detail. Usually 3-4 eggs are average.
I’m going to go for the safe bet of four
That is a safe bet and is mine as well.
I see we’re up to three already
… and counting. 🙂
I bet tomorrow is the last day, but for your sake I hope I’m wrong…
Thanks Alex, the more the merrier. However five makes a really full house.
There’s another one, that’s awesome! I hope everything will be okay.
Yes Ellie it is like Christmas morning when I open the box and see another little beauty laying there.
I see you have another happy day.
Absolutely Elenka and I hope it continues.
Wow! Great happiness keeps flowing!
I guess it would be eleven, and hopefully, all hatch well?
Are eleven too many for blue birds?
Yes eleven is too many, would love to have that many but the house would be overflowing. Usually 3-5 is the normal amount. My happiness runneth over and I am enjoying each moment.
Ahhh… I have guessed it with the custom of the hen…
Yes it is different with the little birds.
Well, we’ll wait, how many eggs will it give you
Every day is a chance for a new egg. 🙂
