Procrastination – One Of Your Worst Enemies

Majority of us are in the habit of putting certain things off and pending; until either the last minute arrives or else; we’re eventually deprived of an opportunity and this particular state or phase of mind is called Procrastination.

<a data-snax-placeholder="Source" class="snax-figure-source" href="https://icebreakerideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/12-Ideas-How-to-Overcome-Procrastination-e1481718168765-663x375.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">https://icebreakerideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/12-Ideas-How-to-Overcome-Procrastination-e1481718168765-663×375.jpg</a>

Once we’ve become the victim of procrastination, people would dub us as procrastinators, who are believed to do the following two things:

  1. Chronically avoid difficult tasks, and
  2. Look for distractions knowingly, rather quite deliberately

So in larger part, what this procrastination does reflect then? The answer is, “it shows, depicts and reflects what perennial struggle an individual faces with his or her self-control” while at the same time, it also reflects the victims’ “inability to accurately or correctly predict” whether how they’ll be feeling the next time.

Any idea what would be or what could be the consequences of such a state of mind? The experts say “It would lead to a (permanent) downward spiral and negative feelings or emotions; thus resulting in deterring (the victim’s) future effort(s).”

However, there’s always a brighter side so looking on the other side of the picture would tell us that:

  1. In majority of cases, you would find a ‘Perfectionist” to be a procrastinator, and
  2. Overcoming procrastination is very much possible as all it takes is constant effort

It is a common belief that the procrastinators may “perform better under pressure” and majority would take it as their way of justifying “putting the important matters off” but; the above facts cannot be and should not be denied either!

  1. Excellent post! Very truthful, I think we are all guilty of this, atleast a little bit. Of course I do not perform very well under pressure. If I have to do something in a hurry I tend to make more errors than if I can take my time it is more error free but I do tend to procrastinate a little bit if given a long deadline on something, so go figure! Lol!
