Erbo & Violeta have loved carousels since they were babies. Kathy & I used to take them on an indoor Merry Go Round at the Garden State Plazain Paramus, New Jersey. Later they discovered the Topsfield Fair Merry Go Round & the Fiesta Shows Carousel in Gloucester, Massachusetts, my hometown. On our first vacation to Cape Cod three years ago they discovered one in The Cape Cod Mall of Hyannis. This past April we visited the Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, Massachusetts. At the top of a steep hill there was a building with a vintage Carousel from the turn of the century. They were thrilled to find it in working order! Usually Viterbo is the most excited for this ride, but in Sandwich Violeta rode the wooden horses eight times!
I love carousels too !!!!!
Absolutely love carousels. Brings back memories.
The magic of childhood! Lovely moment:)
all three malls in my area have carousel, ferris wheel, and little chu chu train that goes around in the mall. the malls now look like disneyland.
I love carousels too – even the small ones in children’s playgrounds!
I still love carousels mostly for watching. I love the animals and the history of the people who carved them. The whole process is fascinating.
write a post about the carousel animals and the history. carousels just remind me of the carnival days.
