Masters who have been working on the production of this famous drink for years, say that the taste of brandy depends primarily on the country on which the plum tree grows and the recipe according to which it is made. In Serbia, many other types of brandy are produced, but for the true domestic it is considered plum brandy.

Modern drinks are ok, but everyone who tastes home-made brandy, That’s going to tell the world what’s really good.
I think my husband’s relatives in Serbia do drink this. I never knew much about its quality or how it was made. Sounds like a family tradition.
Yes, it is a tradition in villages in Serbia.Almost every house makes a brandy…then relatives and neighbors gather. This is a nice gathering.
Looks like it can give a hard kick!
It all depends on the length of making brandy. What is ,,baking,, longer is getting weaker.
Very interesting! New knowledge for me!
I do like a nice glass of brandy, but it is quite strong…
Yes..may be very strong.
Some of my friends had some and then took a nap
haha..if they are a bit overrated … then the nap is obligatory.
One minute we’re all drinking, the next I’m alone
Mazeltov! That looks great. Pour one for me 🙂
Go ahead..We say..Ziveli !! Cheers!!
haha that’s a really good article! That’s what the Balkan is famous for! I prefer our traditional food better than Shlivivitsa though 😀
Hehe. When I saw the title of the article, I knew exactly who the writer was.

Marija i Branka, prepoznatljive.
A really nice presentation about our Sljivovica brandy .. But I do not like it. I like the brandy of Apricot, Apple.
A few days ago, I tried apricot brandy. It was very special.Much depends on how it is make.
Ohh you are right! There are different shlivovitsa as well as rakias. It depends if its homemade or bought in a store. I’ve never tried apricot brandy though. Was it strong?
Oh, yeah, it was very strong ..at least for me.
I’ve always found rum a little too strong for me, but I’d love to try plum rum, it sounds lovely.
Yes … a good drink … we always have it at home, because it is good for health.
