Kim’s Challenge for this month is Shadows and Silhouettes. She keeps us on our toes. I captured a hummingbird on my deck. There is a handmade wooden perch he sits on that is attached to the deck where the feeder is, to lookout for other hummingbirds. Very territorial. It was very cloudy so I decided to edit it to see how a silhouette would look. Then I noticed Kim’s challenge, so here you go. Hopefully this will suffice for your challenge Kim. Everyone should join, it is cool to see all of the photos.

If I were a flower,
hummingbird would be my favourite bee
And If I were blind,
the light of darkness I’d love to see

Very interesting and minimalist picture! I love the poem at the end.
Thank you so much Ellie.
Very effective silowhette and poem, thanks Carol.
Thanks Pamela it was a fun edit.
Wonderful photograph, and great for the challenge!
Much appreciated, it was a photo I played around with.
Beautiful just beautiful Carol.
Much appreciated my friend. I thought maybe it was too dark but I like it, the mood was cloudy and so is the photo. Glad you like it.
It’s about the moment as it is.
Thanks for the support and reminder about the moment. I need to live more in the moment. It is hard to stop my mind sometimes from going backwards.
Your mind is your creative breathing ground. Every little step ahead, is 2 steps away from the dread. Now you can take that to the bank!
Thank you, these words remind me of when I lost my son I felt as if I was going one step forward and two backwards. But in life that is how we get through.
A lovely shadow
A bird on a Line
Now if only the hummer
could sing
a song for his supper
We could sit down
to Dine!
How cool, thank you John. This little hummer does sing but not very loud.
You have such a natural talent.
Gee Whiz John! Where have you hiding? Or should I say barding?
Awe, its perfect. What a great silhouette! Thank you Carol. : D
Thanks I am glad you like it Kim.
I love how the tininess of the hummingbird is so evident in this photo.
It is definitely the focal point, love these hummers! Thank you.
I love the article! Too much freedom and liberty on the photo! Excellent!
Thanks, not sure what you mean about too much freedom and liberty.
That little bird is a humming bird. And there is such a big beak. I have the feeling that she can not balance. The photo is great after processing.
Thanks, they can balance very well, so entertaining to watch them. The long beak is what helps them get the nectar from flowers.
Very pretty little birds they are. I just love when they sometimes mistake my hair for flowers and get so close to me with their dazzling colors and also those fluttering wings. That silhouette is a great catch of such a lovely and enchanting bird.
I know, that is cool and has happened. Love the hummers. Thanks!
Hmm… I don’t know why but it or maybe its the photo emits a feeling of loneliness…
But it means that its a well taken one – it captured emotion, at least to me
Wow, I do thank you for that. If you can feel something then I have done my job. I can see how it could be interpreted as loneliness with the black and white shadows. And that is perfectly fine. But he was not lonely at all. Thank you alibb.
Maybe I should have brightened it up a little.
Nope, I think its great the way it is!! 🙂
Thank you so much alibb!
The long beak has a huge impact on this photo! Awesome!
The beak is almost bigger than its body. Love these little birds.
In the silhouette, without its beak, it is just a black lump…
I also see his tiny little feet.
Aahhh… Yes, I see it too…
