I found a special bird to end my Alphabet Bird series with.
Xantus’s Hummingbird
For those of you who are Hollywood movie lovers, you know that hummingbird is one of the icons in The Hunger Games film which is very popular in the public. I love seeing them in the wild and at my deck feeder of course.
This type of hummingbird is only found in one state in Mexico, namely in Baja. Xantus’ Hummingbird has a medium size of about 8 to 9 cm long.
In addition, the hummingbird’s weight is around 3 to 4 grams. In general, Xantus’ Hummingbird makes bushes, city parks, and forests as their home.
This bird has a tongue that is long enough to consume nectar from plants. In addition, this bird is also a predator for spiders, crickets, and termites.
Not my photos. I have never seen one of these beautiful hummingbirds, unfortunately.

That is amazing there is a bird starting with an x. I have heard of hummingbirds but never seen them or even their subspecies.
