“Man is born free, and everywhere he is in bondage” ~ 365 Photos Challenge ~ Day #4

In our hectic everyday life, very rarely, one thinks what qualities he must possess in order to succeed. In antiquity as now, the leading is the sense of self-preservation. It was the only thing that has kept mankind from extinction. As is now, the stronger and more intriguing survives.

The personal qualities that each of us must possess these days to succeed are different according to each person.

“What qualities must a person hold in modern society to achieve a successful realization?” This question harasses every normal person on this planet. In the process of growth the individual changes his views of the world.

In ancient times some people have thought that achieving personal freedom is a breakthrough, nowadays we are born free and die as we choose, free or enslaved by something or someone. Such a thought was also put forward by the philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau: “Man is born free, and everywhere he is in bondage.” This person has fully described when we lose our freedom. It is our right, and at first glance, no one has the right to take it away from us, but it is not.

There are different kinds of freedom: social, internal, and many others. Every living being strives for his complete freedom.

Another quality is conscience. As Emmanuel Kant said, “Conscience is the consciousness of the inner judgment in man. It can help us to rise spiritually and socially, by preventing repeating the same mistakes, but also by failing to suppress it. Conscience is the moral genius of man – it is a congenital moral knowledge that is not taught, not taught, controlled or exercised.

Self-esteem is related to the success of the individual, the opinions of others, the environment in which he grew up, the upbringing and many others. This quality every successful person has it, it helps to rise. We ignore the so-called parvenuta – these are people who have great self-esteem based on their material possibilities.

Dignity is one of the qualities a person must possess in order to become a full person. It is a collection of several qualities: pride, nobility, valor, generosity and others.

In reading your post I am reminded of how much I have to be thankful for in being united with God in the Christ according to His Word. To gain abundant life in Him is the greatest freedom and I am continually humbled by His grace.
