The picture is of the quilt my mother gave me on Christmas. My mother is an artist with quilts. Although she did say this one was the most difficult she had ever made. The fabric used for this quilt came from my grandfather and father’s ties. I cannot express in words how much this gift means to me.
My mother has an ETSY shop if you are interested in a quilt of your own. Follow the link to their shop!
To wax poetic about this quilt, it is one of those gifts I wasn’t expecting and that makes it all the more magical. It is a connection to the men that help me, shaped me and guided me as a child and young adult. I am proud to carry on the name of two of them, and cherish the memory of all three of them.
Oh wow, it looks stunning.
Oh my goodness, what a treasure she has given you!
Adore beautiful & memorable things of such kind, they are real masterpieces for me! Thank you very much for this great post!!!
Thanks! My mother said making a quilt with former neck ties, was the hardest quilt she had ever made.
She really is an artist with quilts. Just look at that design. My grandmother used to make quilts, I have one of my dads old Hawaiian shirts. What a great way to re-purpose.
That is the amazing thing that they do. The kids each have high school graduation quilts. The boys wouldn’t leave the house or take a nap without their quilts.
