I shared a picture earlier of Christmas still in boxes more than a week after Thanksgiving. There was a time when the day after Thanksgiving we were off to buy a tree. We had a nice area in the living room that was perfect for a wonderful holiday tree. We did that for many years when the kids were little, starting in Cincinnati and then all the way to Indiana. As the kids got older, we moved to a medium-sized artificial tree (which is much better for the environment) and then finally a small artificial tree.
This picture is of the stockings hung by the fireplace with care.
The holidays are less critical now than they were then, as is normal. People change over time, as they grow. But we do have the fireplace ready for the arrival of the holiday!
Does Santa still put gifts on those stockings now that Jakki and the twins are already grown-ups? ???
Yes, but now Santa goes to bed early and does them the night before. It makes for longer sleep!
Hopefully, your Christmas is just a festive, Doc, like this festive decoration.
Thank you, Albert. We strive for the peace and harmony the season offers.
I am convinced that peace and harmony are always with you and your family, yesterday, now and for all.
Nice post! Nice picture!
It’s a lovely spot Doc. Looks really festive.
We try, the kids don’t quite have the Christmas spirit they once did.
