We walk pretty much the same route (minor variations) every night. The Labs Love their walk. Just seeing their harnesses is all they need to get ready. Even after walking with us for more than four years as a pair they still get excited. Spring began with the traditional first trees to bloom Dog Woods, and they were beautiful. The next along with the who is blooming next festival is the wonderful redbud tree. The brilliant red wasn’t captured well by my cellular phone camera. But you get the idea. It is a wonderful sight to come around the corner and see this tree.
That magnificent tree got me thinking. When I was younger, I looked to each season for different reasons. There was a time in my life when I ran every day. I much-preferred fall and spring to summer and winter. In the winter you had to bundle up and ended up being uncomfortable while running. In the summer, well, you were always uncomfortable running in the summer. Now the change from winter to early and then mid-spring means something different. First, we have to go out and take care of the winter’s damage to the house. We have to get ready for the summer, where at first we are outdoors more, but then we are not outdoors more because it grows to be too hot. The dogs don’t like walking in the 90’s even with water breaks.
Time seems to pass differently now, the things you wait for as a child, as a young adult, and as a middle-aged person begin to fade away.

A stunning picture. The words paint a picture of reality. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words, always nice to get a compliment!
However, your picture is special and fascinating.
I still jogging several times a week, as best I can, as long as it does not rain. I was lucky in this case because the morning run was never disturbed by the cold weather.
We walk 7 days a week to keep the labs healthy! Running is something I gave up a few years ago because my knees are shot now.
That’s what matters, keep moving!
It is most important to keep moving!
What a gorgeous tree! It’s amazing how our perspective changes with time.
Thanks! Time is a great equalizer! The tree is one of my favorites.
These are some of the most gorgeous trees in my opinion.
I agree! It is really pretty in the spring and in the fall!
beautiful picture of a tree in flower
Thanks! It really is a beautiful tree I love walking by it.
Very true there Doc. I have thought about this recently on visiting places I did when I was younger. I thought how could I have missed this, and this and this.
It is an interesting reality sometimes, what was, what is and what we remember.
I agree with you. As we grow older, we do experience seasons differently. Now that I am old enough to determine my own schedule, I have more time to fully notice the seasonal changes. Before I didn’t have time or the right setting to fully appreciate nature as I can now.
It is a funny evolution, I remember thinking my father was crazy with his mini-farm dream. Now I wonder if he didn’t have the right idea all along.
